Limited English proficiency is associated with decreased utilization of revision surgery after hip and knee arthroplasty

Patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) undergo revision surgery at the same institution less often than English-proficient patients in the years following primary hip and knee arthroplasty, even after adjustment for demographic, comorbidity, and operative factors — a pattern interpreted as reduced access to postoperative surgical care rather than lower clinical need.
