Improving interpreter access alone does not eliminate the informed-consent disparity between LEP and English-speaking patients

Increasing rapid access to professional interpreters improves informed consent for patients with limited English proficiency but does not, on its own, eliminate the language-based informed-consent disparity: LEP patients continue to report inadequately informed consent more often than English-speaking patients even after such an intervention.
