Making telephone and professional video remote interpreting (VRI) available as fallbacks for in-person interpreters keeps interpretive coverage continuous, so that LEP surgical and procedural patients are not delayed, cancelled, or forced to proceed without interpretation when an in-person interpreter is slow or unavailable.
